The History of Grounded4
It all started on a dark stormy afternoon at the egg harbor twp high school when Jon, Sam, and Will Beck were talking about the high school talent show. We were discussing how we wanted to play in it but we weren't in any band, so we decided to get the people in our school who wanted to play but didn't anyone to play with. We ended up with Jon on guitar, Ron on guitar, Sam singing, Tim Lockerbie on drums, and Will Beck on bass. We played around but we eventually ended up playing Creed's ONE... it was cool!
After all that work we did, it ended up that we were the only other band in the talent show that didn't drop out and it turns out that we were the best band there! We had the most applause!
Once that was all done, Jon, Sam, and Ron were talking about what was going to happen with the band and decided to start G4. We messed around with bass players going from Erik Carlson to Loren Ronduex to Chippy Channel, and wound up with Erik Carlson.
After a couple of shows, we felt we needed something to help us. We put mad energy into our shows but we started feeling uncomfortable because we were the only ones to be putting out energy. Everyone else just watched. We wanted people to get up and jump and enjoy themselves but for some reason our energy wasn't contagious. Then at one show, we noticed that once one person got up and got energized, everyone else didn't think twice before joining on in. It was great! We wanted that for every show but there won't always be that "one person"! Well, we made it so there was! We wanted to add a fifth member of G4 but not just anyone. It had to be a person who is 110% energy and that would be willing to sing backup when Ron and Jon wanted to move around instead of sing backup. We discussed one night and decided on one person.......BEEF! Yup, Beth Heim! She attended most of our shows previously and was always energized.
Unfortunately, Beth had to go away to college which meant that she had to leave the band. Now we are back to four members.........Ron.........Jon........Erik........and Sam!
We went from there the rest is history, or back to the future or something.
